Aphria Incorporated is a Canadian medical cannabis company. Aphria Incorporated is traded on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX). The company has a market capitalization of $3 billion.

Cannabis is currently legal in Canada only for medicinal purposes, under conditions outlined in the Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulations (ACMPR) issued by Health Canada, and for seed, grain, and fibre production under licence by Health Canada. As opposed to decriminalization, on 17 October 2018, Canada is to become the second nation in the world, after Uruguay to formally legalize the plant. Whereas decriminalization would simply remove laws restricting the use of cannabis products, legalization allows for the taxation of legally produced cannabis.
